什麼時候用
quit 後面接動名詞，意思是「戒掉、停止做」。它跟 stop V-ing 幾乎同義，但 quit 更口語，而且沒有 quit to V 這種用法。
常見錯誤
- quit smoking，不是 quit to smoke。
- 美式三態是 quit-quit-quit（不變化），英式有 quitted 但少見。
- quit 當「辭職」時是及物或不及物都可以：quit his job／he quit。
