In 1948 a doctor named Ludwig Guttmann organised a small sports competition for injured soldiers at a hospital in England.1948 年，一位名叫古特曼的醫師在英格蘭一間醫院為受傷的士兵辦了一場小型運動比賽。

How It Works它怎麼運作
- The name means parallel名字的意思是「並行」
- Para comes from the Greek word for beside. The Paralympics run alongside the Olympics as an equal event, not a smaller version of them.para 來自希臘文的「在旁邊」。帕運與奧運並行，是對等的賽事，不是它的縮小版。
- Classification分級
- Athletes are grouped by how much their impairment affects that particular sport, so that the result depends on skill and training rather than on who has the least impairment.選手依「損傷對該項運動的影響程度」分組，讓比賽結果取決於技術與訓練，而不是誰的損傷比較輕。
- Codes, not just names代號，不只是名字
- Each class has a code, like T44 in athletics. The letter says what kind of event and the numbers say the class.每個級別都有代號，例如田徑的 T44。字母表示賽事類型，數字表示級別。
