Breaking the Fast打破禁食
The word breakfast is made of two words: break and fast. A fast is a time when you do not eat.breakfast 這個字由兩個字組成：break 和 fast。fast 是「不吃東西的一段時間」。
While you sleep you eat nothing for eight hours or more, so the first meal of the day breaks that fast.睡覺時你有八個小時以上沒吃東西，所以一天的第一餐就是打破那段禁食。
What people eat for breakfast is very different around the world, and Taiwan's version surprises many visitors.各地早餐吃的東西非常不一樣，台灣的版本讓許多外國人吃驚。
In Taiwan a hot savoury breakfast is normal — soy milk, egg pancakes, rice rolls. In Britain many people eat cold cereal with milk.在台灣，熱的鹹早餐是常態——豆漿、蛋餅、飯糰。在英國，很多人吃冷的穀片加牛奶。

- Hot or iced熱的還是冰的

- In American English you say for here or to go. In British English it is eat in or take away.美式英語說 for here 或 to go。英式英語說 eat in 或 take away。
