A Game of Turns一種輪流的比賽
Baseball is different from most ball games: the two teams do not attack at the same time. One team bats while the other team fields, and then they swap.棒球跟大部分球類不一樣：兩隊不會同時進攻。一隊打擊時另一隊守備，然後交換。
The pitcher throws the ball towards the batter, who tries to hit it and run around four bases.投手把球投向打者，打者設法把球打出去，然後跑過四個壘包。
If a runner touches all four bases and returns home, the team scores a run.跑者踩過四個壘包回到本壘，就替球隊得一分。

The Basic Rules基本規則
- Nine innings九局
- A game has nine innings. In each inning both teams get a turn to bat. If the score is tied after nine innings, the game continues.一場比賽有九局。每一局兩隊各有一次打擊機會。九局結束後平手就繼續加賽。
- Three strikes, you're out三好球出局
- A strike is a good pitch that the batter misses or does not swing at. Three strikes and the batter is out.好球是指投進好球帶、打者沒打到或沒揮棒的球。三個好球，打者就出局。
- Four balls, walk to first四壞球保送
- A ball is a pitch outside the strike zone. After four balls the batter walks to first base for free.壞球是投出好球帶以外的球。四個壞球，打者就直接上一壘，這叫保送。
- Three outs, swap sides三出局換邊
- When the fielding team gets three outs, the two teams swap roles.守備方抓到三個出局數後，兩隊交換攻守。
- Home run全壘打
- If the batter hits the ball out of the field, everyone on base and the batter all score. With the bases full, that is a grand slam — four runs at once.如果打者把球打出全壘打牆，壘上的跑者和打者全部得分。滿壘時打出全壘打叫滿貫砲，一次得四分。
