Badminton is played with a shuttlecock instead of a ball. A shuttlecock is light, with feathers at the back, so it flies very differently from a ball.羽球用的是羽毛球，不是一般的球。羽毛球很輕，後面有羽毛，所以飛行方式跟球完全不同。
It leaves the racket extremely fast, then slows down quickly in the air. That is why badminton needs both power and very quick feet.它離開球拍時速度極快，但在空中很快就減速。這就是為什麼羽球既需要力量，也需要非常快的腳步。
The fastest recorded smashes travel at more than 400 kilometres per hour, faster than any other racket sport.紀錄上最快的殺球時速超過 400 公里，比任何其他球拍運動都快。
The game got its name from Badminton House in England, where an early version was played in the 1870s.這項運動的名字來自英格蘭的 Badminton House，1870 年代那裡玩過它的早期版本。
How to Win怎麼贏
- 21 points a game一局 21 分
- The first player to 21 points wins the game, but they must lead by two. At 29–29 the next point wins.先拿到 21 分的一方贏得該局，但必須領先兩分。到 29 比 29 時，下一分就決勝。
- Best of three games三局兩勝
- A match is best of three games. Players change ends after each game.一場比賽三局兩勝。每局結束後雙方交換場地。
- Rally scoring落地得分制
- Every rally scores a point, no matter who served. Before 2006 you could only score on your own serve, and matches took much longer.每一球都有分，不管發球方是誰。2006 年以前只有發球方能得分，所以比賽拖得很長。
- Serve low and diagonally發球要低、要對角
- The serve must be hit below the waist and must land in the diagonal service box.發球必須在腰部以下擊出，而且要落在對角的發球區內。
- In or out界內或界外
- The court is narrower for singles and wider for doubles, so the same shot can be in for doubles and out for singles.單打的場地較窄、雙打較寬，所以同一球在雙打是界內、在單打可能是界外。
