間接問句：疑問詞 + 主詞 + 動詞

直接問「車站在哪裡？」是 Where is the station?。放進 Can you tell me 後面變成間接問句時，後半句不再是問句，要改回「主詞 + 動詞」的直述句語序：Can you tell me where the station is?。中文兩種說法字的順序一樣，所以很多人會忘了把 is 搬回去。

• Can you tell me where the station is?可以告訴我車站在哪裡嗎？

• Do you know what time it is?你知道現在幾點嗎？

• I wonder who that tall boy is.我很好奇那個高個子男生是誰。

直接問句 → 間接問句

do / does / did 在間接問句裡要拿掉，時態和第三人稱 -s 改回動詞身上；疑問詞本身就是主詞（who broke）時，語序不用變。

沒有疑問詞的問句：用 if 或 whether

原本是 Yes / No 問句（Is he…? Does she…? Can you…?）的，沒有疑問詞可以接，就用 if 或 whether（是否）帶出來，後面一樣是「主詞 + 動詞」。

• Do you know if Ken is at home?你知道 Ken 在不在家嗎？

• I wonder whether it will rain tomorrow.我在想明天會不會下雨。

• Can you tell me if this bus goes to Shilin Night Market?可以告訴我這班公車有沒有到士林夜市嗎？

句尾標點看前面的主要子句

整句是不是問句，要看前面：Do you know…? / Can you tell me…? 是問句，句尾用問號；I wonder… / I don't know… 是直述句，句尾用句號。

• I don't know how old she is.我不知道她幾歲。

• Do you know how much this costs?你知道這個多少錢嗎？

常見錯誤

• ✗Can you tell me where is the post office?
  ✓Can you tell me where the post office is?間接問句要用「主詞 + 動詞」的語序，is 要放到主詞後面。
• ✗Do you know where does Amy live?
  ✓Do you know where Amy lives?間接問句不用 does，要把 -s 加回動詞 live 身上。
• ✗I wonder what did he say.
  ✓I wonder what he said.拿掉 did 之後，動詞要改成過去式 said。
• ✗Do you know is Tom coming?
  ✓Do you know if Tom is coming?Yes / No 問句變間接問句要加 if 或 whether，而且語序要改回直述句。
