- 1Welcome to a grass tennis court. Tennis is played by two players, or by two pairs of players.歡迎來到草地網球場。網球可以兩個人打，也可以兩對人打。
- 2This is the court. It is 23.77 metres long. The ball must land inside the lines.這是球場，長 23.77 公尺。球必須落在線裡面。

What Is Tennis?網球是什麼？
Tennis is a racket sport played by two players (singles) or two pairs of players (doubles). The players stand on opposite sides of a net and hit a ball back and forth.網球是一種球拍運動，可以兩個人打（單打），也可以兩對人打（雙打）。球員站在球網的兩側，把球來回擊打。
The goal is simple: make the ball land inside your opponent's court, and make it hard for them to hit it back.目標很單純：把球打進對手的場地裡，而且讓對方不好回擊。
A player wins a point when the opponent cannot return the ball, or returns it out of the court or into the net.當對手接不到球、把球打出界、或打進網子時，你就得到一分。
Modern tennis grew out of a French game called jeu de paume, which people played with their hands before rackets were invented. The first Wimbledon championship was held in 1877.現代網球源自法國一種叫 jeu de paume 的遊戲——在球拍發明之前，人們是用手掌打的。第一屆溫布頓錦標賽在 1877 年舉行。
How the Scoring Works計分怎麼算
- Point: love, 15, 30, 40分：love、15、30、40
- Zero is called love. The first point is 15, then 30, then 40. Win one more point after 40 and you win the game.零分叫 love。第一分是 15，接著 30、然後 40。在 40 之後再拿一分就贏得這一局。
- Deuce and advantage平分與領先分
- If both players reach 40, the score is deuce. From deuce you must win two points in a row: the first is called advantage, the second wins the game.如果雙方都到 40，就叫 deuce（平分）。從平分開始必須連拿兩分：第一分叫 advantage（領先分），第二分才贏得這一局。

- Six games win a set, but you must lead by two. At 6–6 the players usually play a tiebreak, where the first to seven points (leading by two) takes the set.拿下六局贏得一盤，但必須領先兩局。6–6 時通常打搶七（tiebreak），先拿到七分且領先兩分的人贏下這一盤。

- Most matches are best of three sets. In the men's draw at the four Grand Slams, matches are best of five sets, which can last more than four hours.大部分比賽是三盤兩勝。四大滿貫的男子單打是五盤三勝，一場可以打超過四個小時。

- The server gets two chances. Missing both is a double fault and gives the point away. A serve the opponent cannot touch at all is an ace.發球方有兩次機會。兩次都失誤叫雙發失誤（double fault），直接送分給對手。對手完全碰不到的發球叫 ace（發球得分）。
