第一次提到用 a／an，再提到同一個就用 the：I saw a cat. The cat was black.
常見錯誤
- 國名多半不加 the：the Japan ✗ → Japan ✓（但 the United States ✓）
- 泛指複數不加 the：The dogs are friendly ✗（若指狗這種動物）→ Dogs are friendly ✓
