quite 是副詞。英式與美式的語氣不同：美式偏向「相當、很」，英式有時偏向「還算、不到很」。考試通常照美式理解。
常見錯誤
- quite a + 名詞 是「相當…的一個」：quite a difference，冠詞放在 quite 後面而不是前面。
- quite 修飾「絕對性」的形容詞時意思是「完全」：quite impossible 是「完全不可能」不是「有點不可能」。
