什麼時候用
only 的位置決定它修飾什麼——放錯地方句子照樣通順，但意思整個變了。原則是：把 only 放在它要限定的那個成分前面。
常見錯誤
- I only lent him ten dollars（我只是借他，沒別的動作）／I lent him only ten dollars（我借他的只有十元）——位置不同意思不同。
- not only 放句首時後面要倒裝：Not only did he apologize...
- only if（只有在…的條件下）放句首也要倒裝。
