imminent 是「即將發生的」,而且通常用在不好的事:危險、風暴、倒閉。判斷方法:講的是時間快到了就是 imminent。
常見錯誤
- imminent 幾乎只搭配負面的事;「好事快發生了」用 upcoming 或 approaching。
- 跟 eminent(傑出的)只差一個母音,考試最愛放在同一題。
