什麼時候用
attend 當「出席」時是及物動詞，後面直接接會議或課程，不加介系詞。加了 to 意思就變成「處理、照料」，完全是另一件事。
常見錯誤
- attend a meeting，不是 attend to a meeting——後者是「處理一場會議」，語意很怪。
- attend to a patient 是照顧病人；attend a patient 語意不通。
- 「出席率」是 attendance，不是 attending。
