assess 是「評估」，用在有標準、有程序的判斷：評估風險、評估表現、估算損失。比 judge 中性，比 guess 嚴謹。
常見錯誤
- assess 是及物動詞，後面直接接受詞。
- 名詞是 assessment；「形成性評量」是 formative assessment。
