什麼時候用
argue 可以不及物（argue for hours），也可以接 that 子句表示「主張」。這是它跟 discuss 的關鍵差別：discuss 一定要有受詞。
常見錯誤
- discussed for six hours 是錯的，要寫 discussed the issue for six hours；argue 則可以直接接時間。
- argue with somebody about something——跟誰吵用 with，為什麼吵用 about。
- argue that 在論文裡是「主張」，不是「爭吵」。
