Meet Our School Nurse

by School Paper Team · Oct 2026

This month, our school paper talked with Ms. Lin, our school nurse. She works in the health room on the first floor, and she knows almost every student by name.

Reporter: What does a school nurse do every day? Ms. Lin: Many things! I clean small cuts and take care of sports . I check students with stomachaches and fevers. Once a year, I also check every student's eyes, teeth, and height.

Reporter: What is the most common problem? Ms. Lin: Honestly, it's tired students. Every morning, students come here with a , and some of them feel . I always ask them, "What time did you go to bed?" The answer is often one or two in the morning. A needs eight or more hours of sleep every night, but many of you only get five or six.

Reporter: Why do students stay up so late? Ms. Lin: Phones, games, and homework. The bright light from a screen keeps your brain busy. My advice is simple: put your phone in another room at night. You will sleep better and feel happier the next day.

Reporter: What should students eat? Ms. Lin: Never skip breakfast! Eggs, milk or soy milk, and some fruit will give you energy for the morning. Sweet drinks taste great, but they are bad for your teeth. Water is always the best drink.

Reporter: Any last words for our readers? Ms. Lin: Yes. Don't be shy. Do you feel sick, or sad, or ? Come and see me. My door is always open.
